Anchorman 2 confirmed by Will Ferrell
Funnyman shows up as Ron Burgundy on chat show to announce sequel
News Team, assemble! Will Ferrell is returning for 'Anchorman' 2.
Ferrell made an impromptu appearance on Conan O'Brien's chat show last night, arriving in character as Ron Burgundy to announce that the sequel to 2004 comedy 'Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy' has finally been greenlit.

Burgundy arrived furiously playing a jazz flute and insulted his host ("a skeleton with an orange fright wig"), before delivering the exciting news.
He said: “I want to announce this to everyone in the Americas, to our friends in Spain, Turkey and the UK, including England.
“That as of 0900 Mountain time, Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel to 'Anchorman'.
“It is official, there will be a sequel to 'Anchorman'.”
Director Adam McKay took to Twitter to confirm the news. He tweeted: 'A few people questioning if Anchorman 2 is 100% for sure happening. Let me assure and assuage: it is. We're writing now and we shoot in Feb.'
'Anchorman 2' will be produced by Judd Apatow and Will Ferrell and McKay's Gary Sanchez Productions. Ferrell and McKay will be on scripting duty as well.
There's no firm word on a storyline, but that's no surprise because, according to one of Deadline's insiders: “We didn't expect a week ago that this thing was going to get greenlit. It’s been alive and dead so many times.”
But then a strong plot wasn't exactly the selling point of the first film. If this can get anywhere close to the madness of its predecessor, Will Ferrell will win back a lot of fans.
