“'The Amazing Spider-Man' is the first installment in a movie trilogy that will explore how our fave hero's journey was shaped by the disappearance of his parents,” it reads.
This is the first time that a further two films in this current re-booting of the Marvel Comics franchise have been mentioned, though it's not yet known whether Garfield will reprise his role of Peter Parker.
Rumours of a second film in the pipeline have already done the rounds, with a mooted release date set for May 2014.
Whatever its future, the flick has already broken records in the USA.
It's taken $35 million (£22.5 million) on its first day of release, the most money ever made for a Tuesday release.
