Pierce Brosnan has admitted he was happy to leave the James Bond films behind because it was like making a "pact with the devil".
The former James Bond star made way in 2006 for Daniel Craig to play the suave British spy in Casino Royale - and admitted he couldn't be happier.
He said, "You become an ambassador to a small country. Bond is an industry.
You make your pact with the devil. You know that it will follow you. But you just hope you get yourself off the ropes. I have no bitterness but I just feel exhausted by it."
Brosnan, who played Bond four times, can be seen next in Abba musical Mamma Mia.
