A German firm has won an eight year battle with James Bond bosses to trademark Dr No.
The European Court of First Instance in Luxembourg has ruled that Dr No is not a protected trade mark, despite it being the title of the very first James Bond movie in 1962.
The judge stated that company Danhaq, which owns the intellectual rights to the James Bond series, failed to "establish that the signs 'Dr No' were used as trade marks or that the title of the film was used in the course of trade." - which roughly translates as the company using the recognition factor of James Bond to sell the film or product rather than the title.
The ruling allows German firm Mission Productions to register the trademark.
