The latest Final Destination film has taken a trip to the top of the US box office chart.

Final Destination 3D knocked Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds off the top spot after taking nearly $30 million in its opening weekend.

Horror sequel Halloween II was a brand new entry in third place, while box office smash District 9 was in fourth spot.

GI Joe: The Rise of the Cobra rounded off fifth place.
