Christmas cheer came early for US film goers as Vince Vaughn/Reese Witherspoon comedy Four Christmases topped the box office.
The film, which toppled last week's number one Twilight, sees the pair playing a couple who arrange to visit both sets of divorced parents at Christmas.
Twilight dropped to No. 2 over the five-day Thanksgiving holiday in the United States, one of the busiest moviegoing periods of the year. Animated film Bolt, featuring the voices of John Travolta and Miley Cyrus, was just behind at number three. However, figures based on the usual three day figures would've put Bolt ahead of Twilight.
The latest Bond flick Quantum of Solace slipped down to four while
Nicole Kidman/Hugh Jackman epic, Australia, debuted at five. Other new entries were Jason Statham's Transporter 3 sequel at seven and Harvey Milk biopic Milk, starring Sean Penn, in at 10.
