The Gyllenhaal siblings' acting careers aren't the only things hotting up after Jake and Maggie were forced to escape a house fire.

The A-listers had been staying at a Californian holiday lodge when a fire broke out in the early hours on Dec 27 morning, believed to have been sparked by a falling tree.

The fire destroyed the main building at Manka's Inverness Lodge, as well as the getaway's acclaimed restaurant, but no injuries were reported from either the staff or the hotel's dozen or so guests.

Brokeback Mountain star and Oscar nominee Jake managed to pull belongings from the burning house with the help of co-owner Daniel DeLong.

Jake and Maggie, who is up for a Golden Globe next month for her role in the drama Sherrybaby, have been frequent guests at the two-story wooden lodge, which also boasts private cabins for those seeking extra privacy. In addition to the Gyllenhaal family, the onsite restaurant counts Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall among their high profile guests.

It's not known whether the Gyllenhaals cut their holiday short or moved to another hotel, or whether Maggie's almost-three-month-old daughter with fiancé Peter Sarsgaard was there..
