Julie Walters dreams of becoming Corrie barmaid

Julie Walters, who plays Jane Austen's mum in Becoming Jane, says she's actually love a role behind the bar at The Rovers Return in Coronation Street.

Talking about her favourite soap on GMTV, Walters said, "Well, Corrie you see was the very first one I ever watched, from eleven (years old). So it’s my favourite really."

Asked if she's follow in thesp Ian McKellen's footsteps a appear in the ITV favourite she replied: "I’m very tempted. I wonder if they’d ask me. Ooh I’d love to be behind the bar at The Rovers. And then perhaps a little affair with somebody… Dev. I wouldn’t say no to Dev in a little bit of a tryst!"

Meanwhile, she'll just have to be content to appear alongside Dame Maggie Smith, James McAvoy and Anne Hathaway in Becoming Jane which opens on March 9.
