Sarandon joins Speed Racer?

Susan Sarandon and John Goodman are in talks to join the cast of Speed Racer.

The movie based on the classic 1960s series created by anime pioneer Tatsuo Yoshida follows the adventures of a young race car driver named Speed to be played by Emile Hirsch (Alpha Dog).

Sarandon and Goodman will play the backbone of the Mach 5 Go Racing Team in the movie which is due to hit screens summer 2008.
