Jack Black is to star as a junkyard worker whose brain manages to wipe video tapes in an off-beat comedy Be Kind Rewind.
The King Kong actor plays Jerry, a man who believes his brain is melting when in fact it's just magnetised, which in turn accidentally erases all the VHS tapes in his friend's video shop. The pair then have to remake all the wiped movies themselves, titles including The Lion King, Back to the Future and Robocop.
Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) will direct the film which begins shooting September 6.
