Zooey Deschanel signs up for Shymalan's "The Happening"

Zooey Deschanel - best known to UK film fans for her role in the big screen production of "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" - has signed on to star in "The Happening", the next movie from "The Sixth Sense" and "The Village" writer/director M. Night Shymalan.

As ever, the filmmaker is keeping details of his latest project under wraps, but so far we do know that the movie will co-star Mark Wahlberg as a man who takes his family on the run when civilisation finds itself threatened by an apocalyptic natural crisis. Filming is scheduled to start this August in Philadelphia.
