David Carradine died from asphyxiation but did not kill himself - a doctor has ruled.

The Kill Bill star's body was found in a Bangkok hotel last month. It was initially thought that he had killed himself, but soon reports surfaced that the actor was found naked in a wardrobe with rope around his neck and other parts of his body - suggesting he died from auto-erotic asphyxiation.

And medical examiner Dr Michel Baden had ruled out suicide after he oversaw a private autopsy following a request by Carradine's family.

He said, "He didn't die of natural causes, and he didn't die of suicidal causes. That leaves some kind of accidental death.

"The cause of death was asphyxiation, an inability to breathe. Now why that happened is still what we're working on," added Baden, who fronts the US TV medical series Autopsy.
