Thieriot slips on a "Jumper"

Teenage star Max Thieriot is to play a young version of the lead character in Doug Liman's ("The Bourne Identity") big budget spectacular "Jumper". The young actor, last seen opposite Vin Diesel in comedy hit "The Pacifier", will feature as the teen version of leading man Hayden Christensen in the 20th Century Fox project, which is based on Steven Gould's 1992 novel.

The movie will follow a young man who finds he has the ability to teleport from one place to another. This special power brings him to the attention of the National Security Agency and another youth with the same abilities - it's thought Thierot will play the character in flashbacks.

Samuel L. Jackson will also star in the movie as an NSA agent, while "King Kong's" Jamie Bell will play the similarly gifted youngster. Production is expected to begin early next year on the movie, which producers New Regency hope will be the first of a trilogy.
