Jessica Alba is featured in two provocative ad campaigns which aim to shock US citizens to vote at next months presidential election.

In one of the photos, shot by photographer Marc Liddel, the actress appears in a Hannibal Lecter-type mask, while another one sees her bound with black tape. Both the poses are for the Declare Yourself Campaign, which is aimed at young voters.

She said, "I think it is important for young people to be aware of the need we have in this country to get them more active politically. People respond to things that are shocking.

"If you don't register and vote and make a difference, and hopefully change the bad things that are happening in our country, you are essentially just binding and muzzling yourself.

"It didn't freak me out at all. What I like about Marc's work is that he tells a story and brings real emotion to his pictures."

Either Republican John McCain or Democrat Barack Obama will become the next US President. The result, barring any lengthy recounts, should be known on November 4.
