Meryl Streep will be sizzling when she stars as Julia Child in a new film about a woman inspired by the cooking icon.

Julia & Julie is a film based on the blog turned book by Julie Powell, Julie And Julia: 365 Days, 524 Recipes, 1 Tiny Apartment Kitchen.

The story follows a frustrated secretary who decides to cook all 524 recipes in legendary chef Julia Child's book Mastering the Art of French Cooking, in the aforementioned tiny kitchen.

Amy Adams is set to star as Powell while legendary chick flick writer/director Nora Ephron, who brought When Harry Met Sally to our screens, will direct and adapt the book.

This is not the first time Streep has worked with Ephron - the pair worked together on 1983 film Silkwood and 1986's Heartburn.

Meanwhile Streep can be seen as a probing TV journalist opposite and Robert Redford in Lions For Lambs.
