"Stardust" lures Ian McKellen

"Lord of the Rings" star Ian McKellen has signed up to lend his dulcet tones to "Layer Cake" director Matthew Vaughn's upcoming romantic fantasy "Stardust".

The veteran thesp will narrate the movie, which is based on Neil Gaiman's cult comic miniseries, and centres on a young man who promises his beloved that he will get her a fallen star from a strange Faerie world. Claire Danes, Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer will all star in the film, which is due to reach our screens next summer.
