Fifth Potter movie begins shooting

Television director David Yates, whose credits include The Bill, begins shooting the fifth Harry Potter movie at Leavesden Studios on Monday February 6.

Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix sees wizard Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) trying to convince the rest of the magic world that evil Lord Voldemort has come back.

Fortunately, Potter does have the support of pals Hermionne, Ron and Professor Dumbledore, but with the Ministry of Magic take a dim view of his claims so he must take matters into his own hands.

Imelda Staunton joins the cast of the new movie as Dolores Umbridge, alongside Natalia Tena and George Harris as Nymphadora Tonks and Kingsley Shackebolt - members of the Order of the Phoenix.

Helen McCrory, soon to be seen in Casanova has landed the role of Death Eater, Bellatrix Lestrange while Kathryn Hunter tackles Dursley neighbour Mrs. Figg. Finally 14-year-old newcomer Evanna Lynch joins the cast as Harry's strange new friend Luna Lovegood from Ravenclaw.

Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix is expected to hit cinemas sometime in 2007.
