Little Miss Sunshine star Abigail Breslin is to co-star with Maria Bello and Samuel L. Jackson in the controversially-titled indie film Rape: A Love Story.
The movies is based on the 2003 Joyce Carol Oates novella and tells the story of a mother (Bello) who is recovering from a brutal gang rape while being stalked by the perpetrators. Jackson will play a sympathetic cop while Breslin will play the woman’s 12-year-old daughter, who witnesses the attack.
Production is scheduled to begin in June.
The ever busy Jackson last week signed a deal to play Nick Fury in Iron Man 2 and eight other Marvel projects, including the eagerly anticipated Avengers flick.
