Meg Ryan is escaping Hollywood to live on a remote cliff-top estate where she'll raise her year-old daughter, an adopted Chinese orphan.
According to insiders, the You've Got Mail star has agreed to pay around $7 million for a 12-room mansion nestled on nearly seven acres above the Atlantic Ocean off Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts.
A source close to the 44-year-old actress said Meg wants her little girl — who she named Daisy True — to grow up on the exclusive and tranquil Chappaquiddick Island.
Meg — who also has a 14-year-old son from her marriage to Dennis Quaid — fell in love with the six-bedroom, four-bathroom home while visiting friends.
After adopting Daisy True last January, Meg told Oprah Winfrey: "It was definitely time to take a break and regroup to see where I was."
Perhaps the move has something to do with her failed departure from playing cute and/or wholesome Americans to deviants like her role in controversial thriller, In The Cut.
The actress has had a troubled career since news of her affair with Russell Crowe became public. An insider added: "Meg believes there's more to life than making movies.
"She's had some traumatic years, but maybe a move from Hollywood with her new baby will bring her happiness."
