Gabriel Macht is Miller's "Spirit"

Gabriel Macht ("The Good Shepherd") has landed the lead in "The Spirit", Frank Miller's adaptation of the classic Will Eisner comic book series. Macht will play Denny Colt, an ambitious young cop killed in the line of duty who is reborn as a masked mystery man known as the Spirit while it's rumoured that Samuel L. Jackson is in the frame to play his nemesis, the Octopus.

Miller, the man behind comic books such as "Sin City" and "The Dark Knight Returns", is to make his full directorial debut with the film which is due to start filming in October. The finished film should be on our screens sometime in 2009.
