The writers of the US version of The Office have been drafted in to pen the screenplay for Ghostbusters 3 - and the original cast couldn't be happier.
Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg has been hired to write the third instalment of the hugely enduring franchise. Empire Magazine spoke to the cast - Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson - to find out what they thought about the latest development.
"A big element is passing the torch onto the a new generation of Ghostbusters. It's going to be me Harold, Billy and Ernie training the new ones," said Ackroyd.
Ramis added, "Everyone is confident a decent script can be written and I guess we'll take it from there."
Murray joked, "I'm more involved with trying to get the dessert we ordered for lunch. I've yet to see a script, but it's a great idea that they hired these two guys to do it."
The last remaining Ghostbuster, Ernie Hudson, was "too busy" to comment, but said earlier this year: "Truth is, for the right amount of money I can be bought."
