Atonement and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix lead this year's Empire Magazine's movie awards with six nominations.
Atonement was nominated for best British film, Joe Wright best director, Keira Knightley best actress, James McAvoy actor and Saoirse Ronan newcomer. The film is also up for best soundtrack.
Order of the Phoenix was nominated for best film, best director for David Yates, best Sci-fi/fantasy film and best soundtrack. Potter pair Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson were also giving best actor and actress nods.
Hot Fuzz, Sunshine, Control and This is England were also up for best British film, while Simon Pegg, Matt Damon and 300's Gerard Butler will compete with Radcliffe and McAvoy for best actor.
Katherine Heigl, Angelina Jolie and Cate Blanchett are the other names in the best actress category.
Empire magazine editor Mark Dinning said, "Once again, it is a fascinating and exciting list of nominees.
"That sophisticated films like Atonement and Zodiac can rub up against blockbusters like 300 and Transformers proves that cinema audiences are a terrific judge of movies."
The Empire Awards will take place in London on March 9.
