Gerard Butler, most famous for his turn in naught but a loin cloth and six-pack in "300", as well as rom-com-ing it up in "P.S. I love You", has launched his own production company ingeniously titled Evil Twins. The production arm is a joint collaboration with his long-time manager, Alan Siegel.
And first up on their slate is the psychological thriller "Law Abiding Citizen" in which Butler (who else?!) will star as a District Attorney who finds himself the scapegoat when the legal system fails one of his clients. Said client then rallies up a pose of people in a bid to dish out some vigilante-style justice on the D.A. - cue Butler having to withstand the siege all on his lonesome. This sounds like a contemporary "Assault on Prescient 13" and, if they take a few leaves out of the John Carpenter rule book, could come up trumps.
Shooting will begin in the summer from a screenplay by Kurt Wimmer ("The Thomas Crown Affair"). Also in the producing pipeline for Butler and Siegel is the thriller "Hanging Tale" as well as "Teacher Man" (adapted from Franck McCourt's novel).
