More Simpsons movie details

More details about the The Simpsons film have been announced, following the brief

trailer shown at screenings of Ice Age 2: The Meltdown over the weekend.

Producer James L Brooks revealed: "[The film] was enormously challenging, because it involved filling 120 blank pages with an actual story and words people say."

All the regular voice providers will contribute - Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria, Harry Shearer, Pamela Hayden and Tress MacNeill - and series veteran Al Jean told Variety: "We've also set Albert Brooks, Minnie Driver and the real Erin Brockovich, so you should be able to deduce the plot just from that information."

The show's creator Matt Groening said: "The movie has been so daunting, and the contract between us has always been to wait until we all felt the script was right...we feel we now have a story and script worthy of a movie. And there was so much secrecy that it's actually a relief to be able to speak about it now."
