The new teen hunk and star of the vampire hit of the season Twilight, Robert Pattinson, is not banking on making it as an actor.
So much so he was happy to disclose to the Los Angeles Times that: "Music is my back-up plan if acting fails. I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket."
Pattinson's actually already preparing for any, albeit unlikely, shortfall in offers of movie roles by having two of his songs included on the soundtrack (pictured) to the movie that's lead to his meteoric rise onto millions of teen-girl's bedroom walls and mobile phone screens.
He insisted it wasn't a deliberate move to launch a music career alongside his acting one, saying: "That's what I was scared about, it looks like I'm trying to get a music career out of it or something. I'm not going to be doing any music videos or anything."
The young star does have a strong background in theatre and music though, having trained at a college in the UK before treading the boards at local theatres in various plays and musicals. His breakthrough role as Cedric Diggory in the Potter films followed and indirectly lead to the Twilight casting.
Next up for him is a role as Salvador Dali and a return to the Twilight-world is already planned with the next film of the hit franchise.
