He may be credited as the villain in the new Star Trek movie, but Eric Bana has admitted he's barely in the film.

The Australian actor plays Romulan bad guy Nero in the new Star Trek reboot, which stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg and Winona Ryder.

But don't expect Bana to dominate the screen - he's revealed that the part is basically a cameo.

He said, "It's just a great character, it's J.J. Abrams (director). It's a really well-written script, great part. Couldn't say no. I don't actually look at the size of parts ever."

Which is a good thing really.

The film, which is out later this year, tells the story of James Kirk and his fellow USS Enterprise crew members' early days.
