Brittany Murphy is considering taking over Lindsay Lohan's role in dark comedy Poor Things.

Lohan fell out of the project in May when she admitted herself to a rehabilitation facility.

Murphy, who is also signed for Sin City 2, would join Shirley MacLaine and Rosario Dawson in the film which revolves around two female con artists who murder homeless men in order to collect their insurance policies.

Meanwhile Brittany has started filming indie feature Across the Hall, a thriller about a brutal standoff between a young man his fiancee and his best friend.

The actress and her new husband, Simon Monjack, have been at New York Fashion Week where Murphy refused an interview with one tabloid reporter from New York Magazine saying, "Not for that magazine. Your magazine HURT. MY. LIFE."

New York magazine claims that Murphy replied, "I'm so sorry. It's not you. Any other one, People, whatever, but not yours."
