Casey Affleck declares himself "The Kind One"

Casey Affleck, just about one of the most in demand actors in Hollywood right now after his lead performance in "Gone Baby Gone" as well as his Academy Award-nominated supporting act in "The Assassination of Jesse James", has been attached to star in period noir drama "The Kind One"

This property, based on the novel by Tom Epperson, is so popular that the rights were quickly secured by producers Ideology with the book barely hitting the shelves. Author Epperson will adapt his novel just as soon as the WGA strike is resolved.

"The Kind One" is set in 1930s Los Angeles and focuses on an amnesiac mob-hand (Affleck) who finds himself in league with a local gangster - a brutal killer awarded the twisted nickname of "The Kind One". Affleck, despite the obvious dangers, finds himself falling for the Kind One's girlfriend!
