Jennifer Aniston has revealed that she once had a Botox injection.
An increasing amount of older actresses and actors use the treatment which has the effect of smoothing out lines in the forehead. The 40-year-old Marley & Me star says she is unlikely to have the jab again as she felt like she, "had a weight on my head".
Aniston also recognised that showing facial expressions was an essential part of her job.
"I make my living from my expressions, so it’s not a great thing to do," she explained. "A lot of actresses have it now, and to each her own."
The former Friends star even feels Botox, which people inject to obviously appear more youthful, can have the opposite effect: "I think [Botox] makes women look older. Harder. The warmth in their face goes away... People lose perspective. That’s what stopped me. I thought, 'Let’s not even get on this train; it’s a ride you can’t get off'."
Aniston is aware of the importance of looking after herself, in a non-pharmaceutical manner.
She told Elle: "I’m a realist. I know that if I eat nothing but burgers and chips, I’m not going to be hired for the parts I normally would. I’d become a character actress. That might be fine one day, but not right now," she said.
