Adam Sandler plans New York comedy

Adam Sandler is set to star in "You Don't Mess With The Zohan", a new comedy he also co-wrote. The film will tell of an Israel secret service agent who fakes his own death in order to start a new life as a New York hair stylist!

Sandler's writing partners on the film certainly come with plenty of relevant experience; Judd Apatow previously worked with the star on "The Wedding Singer" and also wrote "The 40-Year Old Virgin" and "Fun With Dick And Jane", while Robert Smigel has written for US TV's "Saturday Night Live" and also appeared alongside Sandler in such movies as "Punch-Drunk Love", "Little Nicky" and "Happy Gilmore".

While a director has yet to be announced, filming on "You Don't Mess With The Zohan" is scheduled to take place this summer and the film is tentatively scheduled for a summer 2008 release.
