Hayden Panettiere, whose star just keeps on ascending off of the success of TV's "Heroes", has been snapped up to star in a new Teenage Comedy property dubbed "Daydream Nation".

Rather than just another in a long line of teen comedies this one looks like it could be one to look out for as it marks the directing debut of Michael Goldbach who previously scripted the Sundance hit "Childstar" (2004). Goldbach will direct from his self-penned story and will have a reported $10 million budget to play with - positively low-budget for a film of its kind.

Set to star opposite Penettiere is former prodigy Kieran Culkin, continuing to make a name for himself in the 'interesting indie' circuit (see for instance "Igby Goes Down"). Little is known of the general plot but production is due to start in Autunm of this year.
