Alba and Banks to star in US family comedy

Into The Blue star Jessica Alba and Spiderman beauty Elizabeth Banks are to co-star in family comedy Bill, alongside Californian hearthrob Aaron Eckhart.

Alba, who is a last-minute replacement for teen darling Lindsay Lohan after she dropped out of the film, plays an unruly teenager called Lucy. Eckhart plays the title character who, already fed up with his job and his life, catches his adulterous wife (Banks) in bed with a TV news anchor.

Bill then becomes the reluctant mentor of Lucy and thus regains his lost sense of self - with plenty of laughs and heartfelt moments along the way, we're sure.

The screenplay was written by Melisa Wallack, who also will co-direct with her husband, Bernie Goldman. Meanwhile Alba is keeping busy working on sequels to both Fantastic Four and Sin City.
