Uber-luvvie Kenneth Branagh ("Frankenstein", "Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets") is to direct the upcoming remake of "Sleuth". Based on Anthony Shaffer's play, the film follows an aging theatre writer who launches a complex and potentially deadly revenge plan against the young hairdresser who stole his wife.
The 1972 original starred Michael Caine and Laurence Olivier, and almost 35 years on Caine is back for the update, this time playing Olivier's role, while Jude Law will step into Caine's shoes for the second time in his career (he previously bought "Alfie" into the 21st century).
Harold Pinter ("The French Lieutenant's Woman") has adapted Shaffer's play and the film is expected to shoot early next year in London.
