New role Taken by Neeson

Liam Neeson is to star in Taken, a film written by Luc Besson.

Taken will be shot mainly in Paris and production looks likely to begin on February 14.

The Love Actually actor will play a father and former soldier whose daughter is kidnapped while travelling in Europe and faces being shipped away by slave masters, Variety reports.

Besson's long-time cinematographer, Pierre Morel, will direct.

The busy Irish star will also be providing the voice of the lion, Aslan, in the forthcoming Narnia sequel as well as appearing in the forthcoming Indiana Jones flick.
