Gary Oldman ("Batman Begins" and just about every good film ever made from the last 20 years!) has sat down to negotiate a role in David S. Goyer's latest untitled supernatural thriller (a genre that, along with some superhero shenanigans along the way, he's made his own).
Oldman will co-star alongside Cam Gigandet ("The OC") and Odette Yustman (recently seen in star-making form in "Cloverfield") in what looks set to break new, darker, territory for Goyer.
The story, which Goyer wrote, follows a 19-year-old girl (Yustman) who is plagued by a ghost, or dybbuk, the soul of a dead person barred from heaven. The lost soul takes on the form of a small boy who was killed in Auschwitz during WWII.
Gigandet will play Yustman's sympathetic boyfriend whilst Oldman will pop up as a spiritual guide who helps the girl with her spectre problem.
Shooting is to begin March 3rd in Chicago with Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes producing.
