Sylvester Stallone insists the recent cyclone that hit the country and the release of the latest Rambo movie will result in a "great social change" for Burma.
You heard right... The action star believes the recent Rambo film, released earlier this year, opened the eyes for many who weren't aware of the violence that the people in Burma suffer. In the movie (available on DVD from June 23) John Rambo goes on a mission to save Christian missionaries from a sadistic Burmese general. It has already earned itself some movie history by having the most kills on screen.
Speaking in Tokyo, Stallone said, "Just recently, with this horrible cyclone, we see how these people were unprepared and are being treated terribly, suffering because of the indifference of the government.
"I think what's going to come out of this devastating cyclone, and the fact that our film has made it much more apparent of the violence that these people live under, I think there's going to be great social change in that country because they can't hide any more."
22,000 people have died, with 41,000 still missing, after Cyclone Nargis hit the country earlier this week.
