Meryl Streep, 59, says she is baffled as to why so many Hollywood stars, particularly male ones, have cosmetic surgery (no doubt you could see she was baffled due to her botox-free forehead).

The Mamma Mia! star said in a Good Housekeeping mag interview: "It's not just women. You'd be amazed how many men in this industry have gone down that road. I just don't get it. I think you have to embrace getting older and celebrate life."

The multiple Oscar winner also feels that acting roles are not only still coming thick and fast but they are getting more interesting as she gets older.

"The good thing about getting older is that when they do cast you it's often something interesting - you're no longer asked to be the beautiful leading lady," she explained. "You're allowed to do different things. I've had some very interesting parts over the past few years in films that examine all the idiosyncrasies people have."
