Cate Blanchett is to play Maid Marian in Ridley Scott's take on Robin Hood, according to Mark Strong.
The Full Monty star, who plays Sir Guy of Gisbourne, has let it slip that the Elizabeth actress is set to play the film's Maid Marian. Sienna Miller was the original choice for the part but was reportedly deemed to slim and youthful to star alongside Russell Crowe. (We don't know what that says about Blanchett!)
Strong said, "I think Cate Blanchett is set to take the Maid Marian part. She is a wonderful actress and it would make it a much classier film if she was in it."
