Gerard Butler is being investigated by police after reportedly attacking a photographer in LA.
The 300 star has been accused of punching a photographer several times during a scuffle on Tuesday night. The photographer claimed he was following Butler's limousine, when the hardman actor suddenly got out of the vehicle to ask him why he was being followed.
The photographer responded: "Hey, that's my job". To which he claimed Butler then grabbed his throat and punched him three or four times.
However, witnesses have told celebrity site TMZ that Butler was provoked by the paparazzo. They claimed the "photographer" was driving "recklessly" while he "chased" Butler's limo and almost hit several pedestrians. The photographer denies the claims.
LA police have confirmed that they are investigating the incident and will interview the actor.
Butler recently talked about his drunk past, revealing, "I once woke up in Paris at 4am, five miles from where I'd been at a party. I had gashes to my head, my face, my arms, and I had blood all over my clothes. To this day, I don't know what happened."
He also added that he once had a "suicide wish".
