The Mummy Returns yet again

XXX and The Fast and the Furious director Rob Cohen is set to direct the third movie in the Mummy series for Universal.

Rob who also helmed last year's Stealth takes over from Stephen Sommers who was behind the lens for The Mummy and 2001's The Mummy Returns while Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have penned the script.

The third in an expected trilogy will 'cleverly' avoid hiring original stars Rachel Weisz and Brendan Fraser, by concentrating on the adventures of the couple's son Alex O’Connel. However, John Hannah who played Jonathan Carnahan may yet reprise his role.
