Uma Thurman, Quentin Tarantino's muse of choice and recently seen on the goggle-box promoting a certain broadband service, has just signed up to headline "Eloise in Paris", an adaptation of the best-selling children's novels written by Kay Thompson and illustrated by Hillary Knight.
Thurman will take the role of Nanny, the Mary Poppin-esque caretaker of the brattish Eloise, keeping the child in check and out of mischief (or at least trying to!).
Production is due to start up in June in London, Paris and New York. Charles Shyer (part responsible for the heinous remake of "Alfie" starring Jude Law) is writing and directing "Eloise in Paris" for Handmade Films. Incidentally, Shyer wrote the script with the help of his daughter Hallie Meyers-Shyer (ahhhhh).
Epect this one to be the next big children's franchise taking the lead from last year's "Nancy Drew".
