Any US press and members of the public hoping to 'Meet Dave' at the Eddie Murphy film's premiere were left disappointed.
Murphy didn't turn up for the Meet Dave screening because, according to People, he was busy working on his next film, A Thousand Words (there were probably a few choice words for the comedy actor from those who turned up).
"He's not here because he's doing a movie and shooting – he goes back-to-back-to-back," producer David T. Friendly told reporters at the event, adding, "Eddie, he'll never admit it, but he loves to work. And I think work keeps him happy."
Co-star Gabrielle Union did show up and said about Murphy, "He's a really cool guy. His kids were always on set. He's just really cool and at peace with himself."
