Beyonce Knowles is keen to play Wonder Woman in the big screen version of the comic book heroine.
The character is best known from the 70s TV show, which featured Lynda Carter as the titular hero. Now Beyonce wants to play the character in the upcoming movie. She would be the first black actress to play the role.
She told LA Times, "I want to do a superhero movie and what would be better than Wonder Woman? It would be great. And it would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing."
And she admits that if she got the role she would have to watch what she eats in a bid to fit in the famed (and revealing) costume.
"I would definitely have to keep it right for that costume. The way that [original TV Wonder Woman] Lynda Carter wore it, she was so fine. She was amazing. Her waist was unbelievable. It was pretty crazy, actually, her proportions," she adds.
And Beyonce is not the only black Hollywood superstar who has been linked to a famous Caucasian comic book character. Will Smith was rumoured to be on Marvel's shortlist to play Captain America.
