Great news for people who like gangster films - Christian Bale is said to have joined the cast of Michael Mann's Public Enemies.
The film is a retelling of the famously violent life and times of thirties bank robber John Dillinger, former Public Enemy No.1 on the FBI's Most Wanted list.
Dillinger will be played by Johnny Depp, while Bale takes the role of Melvin Purves, the G-man who tracked him down.
So that's two of the most-talented best-looking actors in a gangster flick directed by one of the sharpest action directors in planet Hollywood. What's not to love? With any luck it might even be as good as John Milius' 1973 Dillinger.
Shooting begins in March, says Empire.
