Michael Douglas believes he has won his battle with cancer after revealing on a US chat show that his tumour is gone.
The Oscar winner was diagnosed with throat cancer last August. However, he is hopeful that he has beaten the disease.
Speaking during a recording of American morning show 'Today', the 66-year-old actor said, "I feel good, relieved.
"The tumour is gone. But, you know, I have to check out on a monthly basis now to maintain. I guess there's not a total euphoria. I'll probably take a couple of months of getting checked out. But it's been a wild six-month ride.
"I think the odds are, with the tumour gone and what I know about this particular type of cancer, that I've got it beat."
Douglas was pictured looking frail over recent months, but he added that he was "eating like a pig" in a bid to get in shape for his role as Liberace in a big-budget biopic.
The interview will air on 23 January.
