Hayden Christensen was temporarily blinded while filming teleporting movie Jumper, in which he stars alongside Billy Elliot actor Jamie Bell and former star of The O.C. Rachel Bilson.
The 26-year-old momentarily lost his sight after sustaining a particularly bad head injury during a fight scene.
Hayden, who plays David Rice, said: "It was a physical part and my character took some beatings. I got knocked around quite a bit.
"I got a nice scar across my hand, I split my ear open, I knocked my head really badly in this one scene and my pupil got stuck in this extremely dilated position, which was really disconcerting because I couldn't see.
"We kept a list of the injuries sustained, and it got pretty long by the end of the movie."
Co-star Rachel Bilson, who plays Christensen's love interest, relished the physical demands of her role. She told BANG Showbiz: "I was pretty much injury-free, although I had bruises and scratches, but I was more proud of them and showing them off. They were my war wounds."
