Sylvester Stallone has revealed what he really needed for his latest bout of jungle warfare - David Beckham.
The ageing action hero told Sydney Morning Herald he never doubted the former England captain would be a huge hit in the States.
He said: "I knew that David Beckham would be received as a superstar when he came to America. Actually, I thought that maybe I should put him in the new Rambo film and chase him around the jungle for a couple of months."
Stallone said the fourth outing for his Vietnam vet was the toughest shoot he's ever done.
He said: "I thought after filming all the hard boxing scenes in Rocky Balboa in 2006, 'What could be tougher'? But it was like the The Nutcracker ballet compared to Rambo.
"This was the most difficult action movie I have ever made, and I've made a few."
Sadly, Beckham was unable to play carry on up the jungle with Sly. Maybe Sly should start planning a sequel to Escape To Victory, the football-based film in which he played a goalkeeper.
