Never one to mince his words, Mel Gibson has compared the barbaric Maya civilisation depicted in his forthcoming new movie to the leadership of George W Bush.
The actor / director's film Apocalypto, due early next year, tells of the slaughter of thousands of people sacrificed to Gods in a vein attempt to stop their nation from collapsing. Mel says he was inspired by current US policies when making the movie, particularly the Bush administration's fear mongering.
Mel told Hotdog: "The fear-mongering we depict in the film reminds me of President Bush and his guys."
Apocalypto is slated for a January 5 2007 release.
