Get Shorty star Dennis Farina has been arrested for having a loaded gun in his hand luggage at Los Angeles airport.
The actor was charged and released on bail on Sunday for carrying an unregistered weapon. Farina, who used to be a Chicago police officer, told police that he had forgotten that he had taken the gun with him.
LAX Police Sgt Jim Holcomb said, "He was apologetic and very cooperative, and he said he understood what was going to happen.
"People don't get it. When you go to an airport, the only people that can carry a gun are federal agents."
Farina has also starred in Snatch, Saving Private Ryan and Midnight Run.
