Danny Glover and Gael Garcia Bernal have signed up to apocalyptic thriller Blindness.
The actors will join Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo on set when shooting begins next month in Sao Paulo and Toronto.
Based on Jose Saramago's acclaimed novel and directed by Brazilian filmmaker Fernando Meirelles, the movie describes how an epidemic of blindness sweeps through an unnamed, contemporary city, and pushes society to the brink of breakdown.
Dreamgirls star Glover (pic) will narrate the story, while Bernal will play a prison inmate known as the King of Ward 3. Meirelles' fellow Brazilian, Alice Braga, has also joined the cast, as a character called 'the girl with the dark glasses'.
Blindness is set to be released in March 2008.
